Default Banner ads

I just found out an interesting thing. Banner ads cost more than text links (in most places), but people click on text links MORE than banner ads. Not only that, static text links help with SEO, while banner ads do not (crawlers can't identify graphics!)

yeah amazing isn't it? I do the same too, never clicked a banner ad before, however some text ads really interest me and I go into temptation.

And most banner ads I see are for those "Free iPod" or whatever places. Text links are usually to actual businesses who have a productive purpose.

Yes but banner ads give you branding.. Something Text Links will never give (can't see your symbol/logo).

If you have an original banner, people will most likely remember it than the text link. Even if they click less on the banners, they will remember

True, but when starting up a business, you can't afford to do advertise simply for the purpose of branding. That's something large companies can do, but it's just not worth it for a small business. For small businesses, SEO and traffic is the most important thing.

Yep, I agree with you, Devils.

Inbound links, PR and clicks are more important when you start.

It can't hurt to have a banner available to people who want to include you somewhere, though.

It definately doesn't hurt to have to put up a banner, but you shouldn't take text link funds and use it for a banner.
