    How Old is OS X?

Hope you don't mind a question from a PC guy, but how long has OS X been around?
If I'm not mistaken, when it first came out I read about one of Madonna's techies using it and slowly coming to trust using it in a live show. That was quite a while ago, I think.

Mac OS X has been around since 1999, while Mac OS has been around since 1984.

Yup. OS X just means version 10 of Mac OS (roman numerals). I think that Mac OS came out around the same time as DOS and Windows.

No. Both Mac OS and Windows are operating systems; two separate operating systems, and therefore you can't get Mac OS "on" Windows.

Could I ask what is vmware?

Would that be the software that would also allow you to use a previous version of windows?

I heard about that possibility in discussions about trying to run some Windows 95 software (PC Paintbrush Designer) on XP.
