As programmers we spend a lot of time sitting in a chair on our computers. I spend at least 8 hours a day (if not more) in my office pecking away on the keyboard. An office job such as this gives very little opportunity for exercise. I generally try to do cardio work 3-4 times a week for 20 minutes or more. During the summer time I do laps around the pool nearly every day. In the winter I run on an elliptical. A book I read once said taking care of your body, spending 10-20 minutes a day, can extend your life by years. Why wouldn't you make that trade? Do you exercise in any way?
This summer I probably did about one hour of cardio exercise a day (aside from my 8 hours of labor). Once I'm back to school I probably won't do much cardio - although I am going to attempt the 100 pushup challenge (one hundred push ups)
Great link. I did the initial test and was able to do 25 which put me at rank 3. I think I'll attempt this as well.
I'm doing about 30-50 push-ups and crunches, and I'm also cycling twenty kilometers, every day.
I hit the Gym and lift weights and do a little cardio (need to do more) about 4 days or more a week. Good stress reliever.
I do train, but not on regular basis.. just when I feel like it. Lately I'm swimming quite often.
When you train, what do you do?
Swimming (lately), cycling, running, walking, push ups, sit ups etc...
I choose something at random when I feel like it.. although I should start this seriously and on regular basis..
I have a fast metabolism (2 big macs and large fries) and I lossed 2 lb's!![]()
