I've been told in the past that the size of the files being shared on Kazaa alone is upwards of 50 PB.
Now THAT is interesting. I have trouble believing it though. Like even as just text, at one byte per character. (I think that's pretty much your minimum size for a single letter.
1 million letters to a MB, 1 billion to a gigabyte. So could there really only be 50 billion letters on the internet?
I frequent a message board with a total of 1.2 million posts. Take an average of 100 letters a post (which is too low) and that site would be .24% of the internet. Not likely.
I think the internet is bigger than we can possibly imagine.
