Thread: Why did you choose your username?

Why did you choose your username?

Why did you choose the username you have right now?

Mine is this.. I live a vowed life..that is I spend my life dedicated to a religious idea. This idea that I follow comes from a certain saint in our church: St. Francis.

Why do I like St. Francis? Saint Francis had lived a frivolous, worldly life. He could have whatever he wanted. His father was rich and so Francis lived a life frolic and gaiety.

After a encounter with God, He came to see how things of this world are quickly passing and that if he didnt use such things for God's glory ..it would proove to be a stumbling block to him reaching Heaven.

After this revelation..Francis tossed away all his fancy clothes and jewelry and took on the clothing of a beggar..He went about doing good for others and served the lepers of his day..

So it is I chose "afranciscan" because I believe that my call is to help others and to serve those who have no one else to care for them:

I have a religious website and I keep this up besides several non-religious websites..all of which are geared to help others directly or indirectly .

So i've used it ever since.

Jordan you have a pretty first name though..At least in the Christian faith..the "jordan" was the river chosen to wash people clean of sins..John the Baptist like this river and over course .Jesus was baptized there..
