Tipping at the restaurant?

How much do you usually tip your waitress or waiter at a restaurant..?

If you find the service is bad; do you still put a tip? What do you do?

Today I took my friend out to lunch for a hamburger and fries at a little restaurant, the bill was $25.00 and I tiped the waiter $5.00. I never really eat at fancy restaurants and when I do I'm being taken out by someone and dont have to worry about paying, so I'm not sure. I think the general tip is the same amount as the tax?

Bad service really gets under my skin and I never tip it. The other day I called up to order a pizza pie and I was going to pick it up in an hour. I drove to the pizza place and it turns out they lost my order. The guy comes up with the brilliant idea of to take a pie that has been sitting out for an hour on the serving racks and starts to put pepperoni and sausage on the pizza (that was my order). I told him i was going out to my car to get my money and I left!

I mean he cant get my order right the first time and then he expects to give me a second hand pie and have me pay full price? I hope he lost money on the pie!

I tip between 10 and 20+%. For truly wretched service that pissed me off, I'll sometimes tip a penny.
