Project Code Name: CodeCall Browser Homepage

Hey guys, so I have an idea for CodeCall, it will help both CodeCall, and CC users.

Chances are, everyone here uses Google, right? I always see, Google this, Google that, why don't you just Google it, makes me think, no one here uses yahoo, which is great, I don't care much for yahoo, I'm a Google guy ;-)

How many of you would set CodeCall as your home page, if CodeCall made its own Google? If CodeCall had its own homepage, you opened it, it looked just like Googles interface, you can search, and get the same results as google searches, because its a google powered search.

What would be different, is the interface would be focused on CodeCall... You would open your home page, and see Google search box, but also get alerts that you have a new message, or you could customize your homepage, to show latest threads, top threads, new posts, new members, focus your "Google" search to search CodeCall.

This wouldn't contain any ads, just a Google search, and CodeCall details.

CodeCall isn't my home page, its actually my first visited site, Google is my home page. I would love it if the two were combined. I know I would use it. I think it's a great idea.

So, vote if you would use it or not!

I think it is a great idea! I know that I would set it as my homepage and if it looked like Google it would be just as quick as google. Good thinking!

Id love to code this, however, I dont know OOP, thus it wouldnt be a great team effort.. lol...

I just come up with the ideas.

So, you're basically talking about a search interface that appends "site:forum.codecall.net" to a google search and wraps the results?

Nope. CodeCall homepage would be your landing page. The search would actually be Google search and CodeCall wouldn't wrap it nor change the appearance in any way. At least, this is how I understood it.

hmm... I just use "blank" for my home page and use the Google quick-search if I need to search. Probably wouldn't change anything, but I can't vote because my option isn't there.
