Well there isn't any possible way he can carry out his campaign promises. His one and only goal at this moment will be handling the economic recession. How well he does that will likely be the judge of whether he gets a second term in which to work on his other promises. I have high hopes for this gentleman, but when it comes down to it, he is still, like Joran said, a politician just like the rest.

The soldiers should IMO be home with their wives and children, not in Iraq.. War costs money, so yeah, it should help..

I sure hope he doesn't get assassinated. I've been praying for him on a daily basis. I may not agree with him, but if he gets killed because he's black, I'll lose a whole lot of faith in humanity.
