    Re: Help for KBuntu

If you nevr used Linux before, Kubuntu is a bad OS to start with. Try Ubuntu, it has a different interface, it's easier to learn and use.

Kubuntu has the KDE interface. It has tons of ways to change settings, but ut can't usually find any of them.

Ubuntu has GNOME, a very user-frienbdly interface.

Yes, you can change the wallpaper in both, and you can play movies and view images in Linux, you need to download the codecs though. Once you get your internet working (post Internet problem in Ubuntu forums, admins there can help you with that), if you try to play an mp3, the player will prompt you to download codecs.

    Re: Help for KBuntu

You should be able to let ubuntu handle the partitioning by itself, unless your doing it side by side of another os.

    Re: Help for KBuntu

what you could do is try and find the solution to the problem now online. and download anything needed and save that on a usb hdd or something. So that you can install that when your get on ubuntu.

    Re: Help for KBuntu

Well first of all, if it's your network card then you should try searching and see if it's supported for Ubuntu. And if it isn't normally included, you could see if there are any drivers for it.
And then you should think if theres any other software that could cause a problem and see if there's a solution for it. If you can't find anything or if it still doesn't work you should try and post in the Ubuntu forums.
