Has anyone else tried Karmic Koala yet?
First impressions are good. Despite generally disliking gnome I've ended up trying ubuntu rather than Kubuntu as I just could get Kubuntu to boot. I'm choosing to put this down to a faulty download rather than an issue with Kubuntu itself.
Only problems I've had so far is a strange bug where the broadcom wireless drivers won't install through the restricted driver manager and have to be manually installed. Well as manual as an install from a .deb package gets.
Other problem is that I can't get my head around how to configure grub2 so I can't boot into Gentoo at the moment.
I'm not sure it's a huge improvement over 9.04, but then I never had that many issues with 9.04.
If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line.
But, it better work this time.
Upgraded yesterday - I don't notice anything different.
I was given the option to upgrade from within Xubuntu but it kept complaining it couldn't connect to the server. Either my connection was playing up again or the servers were really busy on the 29th.
Only real improvement I've noticed so far is that they've final included the latest version of VirtualBox in the repositories![]()

Not much has changed it seems. I upgraded from 9.04 and everything is pretty much exactly the same. The Ubuntu Software Center is the only big new thing.

Download the new operating system programming kit! (some assembly required)
The UI seemed to have a few minor updates. Overall I didn't really think it was worth the trouble. It only being .07 points different of a version should say it all.
I disliked it and liked it.
I loves the new GUI for downloading applications. My computer booted much faster compared to 9.04. What I did not like.. was the change that they made in the boot screen. I admit the new boot screen looks better, but they removed the status bar.. which truly sucks.
I had a few problems with 9.04. I also had to install that in a 'special graphics mode'. (I don't remember exactly what it was called). It also crashed routinely on me, which is quite irritating when you're using it remotely. No problems with 9.10 yet.
