Hey guys.
I've just installed openSUSE Linux Distro OS (64-bit) and chose Gnome over KDE.
I like it so far but something that really is bugging me is that the entire operating system shares a single font, even in web browsing! This makes it really hard for me, as a webmaster, to make sure my sites render properly, because the browser isn't rendering the correct font.
How do I install popular Windows fonts on Linux, like Arial, Verdana, Times New Roman, Trebuchet, and Tahoma? Will this fix the problem and make sites display the correct fonts, instead of the default one selected in the control panel?
Please help.![]()
Give KDE a try. KDE has Kontrol Panel and you will be able to change the font. I'm not sure if Gnome has this or not but I would think there would be a way. IMO, KDE > Gnome.
There are packages of fonts that include the Windows fonts, but because they are owned by Microsoft, they cannot be included in distributions.
