edit: is there good usb linux out there other than dsl and slax? and puppy?? puppy is like out of date
Hey moonknight,
I've used both Ubuntu and Sabayon live linux versions on a USB Stick before in persistent mode. They are both very nice. I've also used OpenSuSe briefly on a USB Stick. Give one of those three a try though!
it needs to be small i only got 254 mb ram and on my other it's only 64 mb ram (old computers)
Oh, I don't know that you will find an decent looking distribution that will fit on that small of space.
Im liking DsL and somewhat puppy (if puppy would update its look or allow downloads for better looks) dsl looks lot better (rite now downloading)
I had some problems with my USB stick becoming corrupt after a couple of persistent uses. Have you experienced that yet?
with puppy? yes after 1 boot it wont read it (maybe i deleted the files on accedint?)
Sounds similar to my problem. Not sure if it is Linux or the USB Keys not able to handle a constantly changing filesystem.
its reads UNABLE TO FIND OPERATING SYSTEM or OPERATING SYTEM NOT FOUND or just boots to windows
It sounds like DSL is perfect for you. A lot of the "nicer" desktops, like KDE and Gnome are huge, so the trick is finding a nice small desktop.
