Why does linux have problems with old video cards? I had a radeon 9200 pro and ubuntu and freespire would not install because of the video card. now I have a 7600 GS and it works fine. any reasons why?
I suppose this is because of no driver support for these older video cards. I would assume that the "generic" drivers would work though.
Well, yesterday I tried the live CD.. and it had some problems... I don't know why! The bottom of the screen was a little crazy with some lines etc... then I changed the resolution.. and it worked... Phew.. this is crazy.
Odd. I bet everything works fine on your laptop.
Yeah on my laptop it does work ok, but on my PC.. everything is crazy.
Maybe the videocard / screen don't support the default resolution...
Yeah, maybe... but when I changed the video card everything worked fine.. but as of a few days ago... it showed those ugly lines.
