    64 BIT ubuntu

    hi all,
my laptop is 64bit and i wanted to download ubuntu for it while i was downloading i noticed that the CD image file name is:
    ubuntu-9.04-desktop-amd64.iso

i got an intel processor, will that image work on my laptop?
yo homie i heard you like one-line codes so i put a one line code that evals a decrypted one line code that prints "i love one line codes"
    Code:
    eval(base64_decode("cHJpbnQgJ2kgbG92ZSBvbmUtbGluZSBjb2Rlcyc7"));

    Re: 64 BIT ubuntu

I don't see why not, AMD and Intel share the same architecture, and I think that's the only 64-bit version of Ubuntu.

Throw it in and run the Live CD, can't go wrong that way.
    Wow I changed my sig!

    Re: 64 BIT ubuntu

    cool, im currently downloading 15%
while i was downloading i noticed that
32bit version: This works with most computers
64bit version: May provide additional capabilities to computers that are able to use 64bit software
any idea what are these additional capabilities?

    Re: 64 BIT ubuntu

Probably mostly using 64 bit programs.

I know 64-bit has some extra stuff, the assembly is a lot different. But to be honest I'm not too familiar with it all, I still have a 32-bit system.
