    Ubuntu MinimalCD

    The minimal CD of ubuntu:

    What can that be used for? I was reading online you can use that to continue developing your own Linux OS or what?

    Most distros start out with everything and the kitchen sink. This starts with the minimum needed, and lets you incrementally add to it. You get a quicker initial download and install, but trade it for extra time later finding and downloading packages.

    So what you are saying is that you can build your own OS, with your own preferred packages?

    Never heard of the Minimal CD...

    Based on what I saw, Minimal CD is Linux plus various other basic things. As an example, it might have Gnome on it, but NOT have most of the Gnome programs (such as games, GIMP, etc). You would need a little more than just the kernal, or you won't have your command-line tools.
