I recently installed ubuntu on my m-series gateway laptop and everything seems fine but I cannot pick up any wifi signals. I have a standard built in intel wifi card but it seems it could not recognize the hardware or something.
Is the hardware detected/listed anywhere?
That is what I am thinking. I don't think ubuntu is picking up my wifi card. It should though, it is just a built in intel one.
Do you know what is the model number?
Marvell TOPDOG PCI Express 802.11n Wireless
Is my built in wireless card.
I do not know Ubuntu very well so I don't know any GUI tools you can use. If you drop to a terminal and 'sudo iwconfig' you will see a list of Wireless devices (or a lack of them). This should let you know if the card is loaded.
