I tried to add this to my grub.conf file:

but it didn't work. Is there something special I need to add for Windows Vista?
thanks a lot ..![]()
Why are you thanking him? He didn't post anything but a problem.
@Prog: This works fine with Vista. Are you sure you entered it correctly? Can you post your grub.conf?
I have those exact same lines in my grub file (for Sabayon and Vista) and it works. Can you post your partition table and grub.conf contents?
what is the grub.conf file for? What does it do?
grub.conf is the configuration file for the bootloader grub. IT is the menu that pop-ups when you boot your computer and asks you what OS to boot into.
I boot successfully my Windows XP and Ubuntu distro. It's cool to choose which one to boot when different tasks are needed.
