    External HD Partitioning?

Can I partition an external HDD in Linux? And will the external HDD work properly?

Yes, you can. Use gparted if you want a graphical partition manager. It will work fine. If you format it using EXT or a Linux/Unix filesystem type Windows will not be able to read/write to it. Keep that in mind.

Yeah, do I partition that as a normal internal HDD? I don't want to mess it up!
