Ubuntu detects SDCard?

Is Ubuntu supposed to detect SDcards? Because I'm inserting one into my laptop.. but can't seem to find it anywhere, I can't mount it or whatever... it's like it's not being detected.

Is your hardware being detected in general? I know some versions of Linux can detect SD cards.

I have a laptop with an internal SD card reader that is running linux (EEE PC) and don't have a problem. Having everything configured by ASUS to work right helps, though

Yeah, but because it was created by ASUS itself, so for sure it will make it own hardware compatible...

You are right. I have a Linux website and I use SD card too. No problem whatsoever. Is it because of the hardware configuration? Normally Ubuntu doesnot have any problem with these applications..

SD cards are used with Linux and Ubuntu. I don't know why you are having this problem.
