I have an integrated webcam with my laptop, I would like to know why it's not being recognised.

Do I need any drivers or software?

You probably need to find the drivers. I would check at the manufacturer's website first, then do a google search for linux and the webcam model.

Go to the website of the manufacurer of the laptop or the webcam and you will find the instruction manual. You may have accidentally removed the driver or not enabled it. Many such complaints have been corrected with a click of the mouse. Just visit the manufacturers website to make sure.
