What fiber optic cards work with Linux?
What are fiber optic cards?
They use fiber optic network cables (cables that contain glass and transmit via light signals). They can transfer at amazing speeds. You can install your OS on a NAS or SAN connected via fiber and it will run as fast or faster than having your OS installed on a local hard drive.
I think I found one. The QLogic series. Anyone ever used these?
Aren't those used for long distances?
What's a fiber optic card? Does it have something to do with a network card? Or a video card?
As i know about it , A fiber optic gasket includes one or more apertures to individually retain optical fibers from one or more fiber optic cards positioned within an enclosure .
