    RAM Problem

Well I run Ubuntu on Virtual PC and when I increased the RAM ( Virtually ) It wouldn't start up! Then I tried reducing to to the original amount that it previously had and everything ran fine again! So what if I need to upgrade the RAM? I will have to Re-Install the whole OS?

    Thanks

No, you should not have to re-install just because you upgraded the ram. How much did you upgrade it by? Did you upgrade it by an odd number or by doubles?

It was 512 and then I increased it to 736

that is probably your problem. You have to increase it in doubles, you can't just use an odd number like that. Try using 1024 and it should work.

Yeah.. computers are strange sometimes but ram work in a certain sequence and you can't just invent a number and set it as RAM! It should be for example 256,512,768,1024 and so on.

Ah, from reading this thread it seems that you could have put 768 opposed to 736.

I have heard, like posted above, RAM works in doubles, so you should really just double its value.

Well not exactly in doubles because 768 is not a double of anything except for 384, which would be invalid.

    That sequence is wrong
    It should be 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048
