I have a lot of files that I have downloaded and they are DRM protected. When I try to play them in Linux, nothing happens. I have tried XMMS, MPlayer, Xine, VCL and amaok. Anyone know what will play DRM protected files in Linux? I did buy the files, it is legal. I just do not know how to play them.
Maybe Windows Media Player under wine.
Nothing native to Linux will play them then?
The problem with DRM is that, in the US at least, it is illegal to circumvent it.
You can convert your music to another format (MP3/OGG) and remove the DRM. There is software that will do this. Sox: SoX - Sound eXchange | HomePage
You could also burn them to a CD and then rip them from the CD again. This will remove DRM.
