    Ripping DVDs in Linux

Is there software I can use to rip a DVD to AVI in Linux? I used Anydvd in Windows to eliminate copyright and then could just use any DVD Ripping/DVD Burning software I chose. Is there something similar in Linux?

I tried to use the KDE Burning software but it came up with copyrighted software error.
