I hope you guys don't mind a newbie question:
Are many people using Linux for music production?
I'm familiar with using Cubase SX on a PC.
The studio I'm affiliated with uses Mac for music production. I'm familiar with a lot of Windows App's - but I haven't come across any music production apps for Linux. I'm sure there are some, but they don't appear to be very popular.
I agree, Mac seems to be the most used for Music and Video production companies. I don't think I've ever heard of someone using Linux though.
I've always been happy using my PC software for music, but now the only thing I'm really concerned about is if I can avoid having to deal with Vista, assuming that I'll have to replace my current computer eventually.
I never heard of anything linux related. But I think you can always use a windows product and run it on wine.
I don't use any programs for music creation, but Amarok is the best player around. It's better than Winamp in my opinion![]()
