    WineX = Wine?

    Is winex the same thing as wine? I'm guessing winex is just for the xwindows system but I thought that just wine worked in both.

    No, WineX is not the same as Wine. WineX is the old name for Transgaming's Cedega. Cedega was originally a fork of Wine, and therefore it had the name it had. Now WineX is of course deprecated, and should not be used.

    It's just renamed, and is now called Cedega, which is still being developed by the company Transgaming.
