You all know about Wine, so my question is.. we all know that to install a software on windows nearly all programs have a setup file, so if we are going to run the program on linux, thanks to wine, will we run the setup file normally and install it on Linux.. ro what?
Thanks
I believe you have to have it installed on your Windows partition before you can run it using Wine. So the answer is yes, you have to run the installer on your Windows partition.
So Wine needs Windows (kind of?)
In another thread I saw that NO you do not need windows, but as it does not support the setup process you need to install the program on windows and then copy it's program files etc.. onto Linux.
I think I better install VMWare in run The required windows programs into the VMWare session.
Yes, maybe you are right.. besides that Wine is not compatible with everything, so having windows installed would be a good asset IMO.
