    Linking Text data to deskop

Hey guys - im relatively new to XML....but what i want to do, is to have a text file with someone's name and their telephone number.....and be able to access this and actively search/filter it by typing in the person's name.

I want to do this because every week people are added/removed and this would be very easy to navigate. To access this i would want to have a desktop shortcut....or more preferably a shortcut in my taskbar/system tray

Also, i am only assuming that XML is the easiest way to do this....can anyone help me out?

    Thanks
