Congrats on passing 100 posts! I've never heard of Gel before either. I'll give it a shot though.
I used to use JCreator, but fell in love with eclipse, due to I changed from windows to linux, so I started to use eclipse with ubuntu. So am still using the wonder of eclipse and like it.
I tend to write all my java in Notepad++, but I do use Netbeans to create interfaces, and also there was an program that I learned Java in called DrJava that had some cool features that really have come in handy from time to time, like testing classes without writing test code. It was a useful tool, thought that kind if thing may be available in NetBeans and I may just have never looked for it.

Notepad ++ and scite are good but youll miss the project management there!

I use Eclipse
Wow, I am surprised that anyone likes BlueJ. I took a class in Java that used this IDE and I thought it was the worst IDE of any language. I prefer notepad over this IDE for Java. I believe it is intended for learning only, not a real world IDE but I may be mistaken.
I like Netbeans and my second choice is Eclipse.
Is there a reason you copied my post and didn't add/change anything?
