hello,

what does the web.xml file exactly in a web-App ? can someone describe how does an web-App use the config or xml map files ?

It depends what software you use to create the website. Take a look in the web.xml file for some sort of indication.

hi


web.xml in a web application is a deployment descriptor
file generally described as a DD.
DD mainly consist of configurations for the servlets mappings (If you
are using Tomcat) and many more.A web application is deployed through a DD .

True. It's important to remember, though, that different software might use files for different reasons. For example, it's possible that the DD is stored in another file, with the web.xml file used for other purposes.
