Exam objectives.

ok,i want to ask about benefits of SCJP exam .i am planning to give this exam but i am dont have clear idea about will it help me in my near future?
i know one can improve on programming skills,but is it if i clear SCJP exam with good percentage i can get a job little bit easily?Will it add a value?
or i may get more opportunities as well as options?Please give me some suggestions should i opt for this exam or its just the matter of getting certificate.

It can't hurt, but it probably depends where you work. If you work at a development company that uses C++, a certificate in Java won't hold much value. However, if you work for Sun Microsystems, it could result in a extra dollar or two per hour.

ok,what i would say is currently i m working as a junior java developer...and i have completed BE in computer science....but i want to do specialization as well as certification in java...so that i could get more good opportunities of job.Now i need a advice should i go for SCJP exam will this help me.?.and to what extent?
