I've decided to rewrite my chess engine from scratch (more or less), and since blogging is so popular these days I decided to write about my progress.

From scratch to the engine beating me. Let's see if I can do it.

Interesting, nice read.

This blog is meant to be a source of learning, but also a place where I gather my thoughts about certain subjects, and a way of sketching up plans for the program.

Sometimes even I think my explanations get a bit lengthy and less then perfectly strucutred. Though I am already using it myself when writing the code, since it is basically a mix of a number of good sources on the net.

I hope you are enjoying it so far as well. I am looking forward to getting the basics done so I can get on with tweaking the evaluation and start beating GMs on ICC.

The blog is coming along nicely. The engine is now able to actually play games using WinBoard... gives it's not very bright yet.
