Is it possible to make the component check wether the user is a registered user or not ?

For example: When the user clicks on a file which he want to download, the component checks if he is allowed (= registered). If he is allowed he will receive the download, if he's not allowed the user gets the Joomla registration form and the download thus is cancelled.

I assume this isn't a standard option. So how would I go about adding such a feature ? Alter the ionFilesModelDownload.php file ?

A second question, which is probably harder to solve: I would like to add the option to email the user with an attachement (license, howto,...) when he clicks the file to download. So the ionFiles component sends the email with an attachement for that specific file.
