Hello,
I've just downloaded and installed the newest version of ionfiles I could find, running the "check version" confirms it's the newest version.
Everything is working fine and the purpose of ionfiles for me is to hold a collection of word documents (.doc files). When viewing everything in Firefox it's perfect, however.
When I click on a file to view it in IE it just saves a blank word document, it keeps the name etc but there is no contents. I've got this in both ie 7 and ie 8.
Unfortunetly the website is internal at present so I can't supply a link but any further information you require can be supplied.
Thank you for your time and I hope we can get this resolved.
Several things...
1) Does it do this in other browsers (Chrome, FireFox, etc)?
2) If so, are the links to the files correct?
3) Can you send me a sample DOC file to test with (if answer is yes to the two questions above)?
EDIT: You are running the BETA 3 release, not the stable, correct?
Hello, thank you for your reply.
I'm using "4.5.0 PB3 (last update on Aug 5, 2009)" downloaded from the joomla website.
1) It only does this in Internet Explorer (tried versions 7 and 8).
It works in Firefox 3.5 and Chrome 2 perfectly.
2) As it works in Firefox / Chrome I would assume the links are correctI have tried files with no spaces, all lower case (to be sure) etc and it's still the same.
3) I will try and work out how to send you one of the files
Edit: I have PM'd you a link to a file.
It appears it is an error with the remoteFileSize function. In your homedir/components/com_ionfiles/models/classes replace ionFilesModelDownload.php with the attached file.
Alternatively, you can comment out line 542 of this file to correct the problem. Let me know if this resolves your problem.
That's fixed it! Thank you so much, I'm glad it wasn't something I'm doing wrong.
Once again, thank you.
