Hi,
Bit of a funny one this... with a previous bugfix (due to my hosts using MySQL version 4) I finally got ionFiles 4.5.0 PB2 to install. It's changed a bit since the last version I used, so I thought I'd try to upload a file and test it a bit.
So, I created a category, tried to add a file and got this error message by the browse part:
Upload directory /home/chamberm/public_html/drb-holding1.co.uk/iFDownloads is not writeable and ionFiles could not chmod to 744. Please chmod 0744
Ok... fine... so into cpanel I go intending to chmod that folder, but it's very odd because ionFiles seems to have created a new site, as opposite to a new folder within the site it's installed into.
You can see this in the attached file, a screenshot of part of cpanel.
Is this another bug?
Thanks again,
Dave.
That is just a new folder. The iFDownloads folder. If you look to the right of it you will see the description which says "httpd/unix-directory". There is no way that ionFiles can create a new site, especially in cPanel. It has no interface. I'm guessing you are in some kind of file viewer?
You're right - this is the cpanel file viewer. But what has happened is still very odd for a number of reasons:
1) If I login to this site with SmartFTP, the iFDownloads folder does not appear to exist
2) If I view the files/folders on this site with the cpanel file manager, the iFDownloads folder does not show up
3) Possible explanation: there's one main domain on this hosting account (www.chambermusicdirect.com) and the other sites (drb-holding1.co.uk, drbholding2.co.uk etc) appear as sub-folders in the cpanel file manager on the same level as, for example, the administrator directory of the main account.
Not sure I'm explaining this too well, but I hope you get the idea! I've attached a bigger image of the cpanel file manager so you can view this and I hope it clarifies what I'm trying to say!
Any further thoughts Jordan?
Thanks,
Dave.
P.S. Just to confirm again, it worked perfectly on my vanilla 1.5.12 install on a local WAMP
It creates the iFDownloads in the root Joomla installation path. If the domain is a sub-directory of the main domain, it should appear there. In SmartFTP browse to drb-holding1.co.uk/ sub-dir. Hit F5 to make sure it is refreshed.
