Hi Jordan,
It look like a great component, that's why I thought I give a feedback because for some reason it doesn't quite work on my side.
I'm developing a new site locally using XAMPP. I have following installed:
+ Apache 2.2.9
+ MySQL 5.0.51b
+ PHP 5.2.6
+ XAMPPlite Control Version 2.5
+ XAMPPlite Security 1.0
+ SQLite 2.8.15
+ OpenSSL 0.9.8h
+ phpMyAdmin 2.11.7
+ Webalizer 2.01-10
+ Zend Optimizer 3.3.0
+ eAccelerator 0.9.5.3 for PHP 5.2.6 (comment in php.ini)
I'm using Joomla 1.5.11.
In frontend I get following error:
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in C:\xamp\xampplite\htdocs\xxxxx\components\com_ionf iles\views\ionFilesView.php on line 115
Just another questions: is there a way to turn off the "IonFiles by CodeCall Programming"?
Thanks for a great component.
Regards,
S.
Hey siki,
Thanks for reporting the problem! I see you are using the new 4.5 Public Beta 2 version. If you go into the administration panel and then select Components/ionFiles/Templates from the menu, you'll arrive at the template configuration for ionFiles. Select a template and click Save. See if the "Notice" is removed from the front end.
To remove the ionFiles by CodeCall you can edit the templates and erase it.
Hi Jordan,
Thank you for the fast reply.
I did try your suggestion, but after selecting default or jDownloads I get a blank screen. I get also following notice before selecting: Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in C:\xamp\xampplite\htdocs\xxxxx\administrator\compo nents\com_ionfiles\models\classes\ionFilesModelTem plates.php on line 114
I'm just a novice programmer so sorry if it's something minor.
Just a suggestion: maybe it would be good to have a default template set up in the backend.
Thanks,
S
Hi Jordan,
Something else just came up. I tried to update the header text and I got the following error:
Warning: mysql_fetch_object(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in C:\xamp\xampplite\htdocs\xxxx\libraries\joomla\dat abase\database\mysql.php on line 462
Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in C:\xamp\xampplite\htdocs\xxxx\libraries\joomla\dat abase\database\mysql.php on line 469
It might be because the template hasn't being assigned?
Thanks,
S.
Regarding my last post. I found that this problem persists only if I enter a lot of text. If I enter for Header Description 2 sentences it's ok get's saved. But if I enter 5-6 sentences (I haven't counted the words), then I get the blank white screen.
Hope this helps.

It was my fault, I had a couple of bugs in the installer. I've updated ionFiles Beta 2 and put a new version for download. Uninstall the one you have and install this one. http://forum.codecall.net/attachment...blicbeta2a.zip
Thanks for the quick reply.
I'll give it a go and let you know.
Cheers,
S.

Hi Jordan,
I've installed the 'a' version and works great.
I have found the solution to my white screen problem. The problem wasn't the Header Descriptions length ... it was that in the text was a ' . If it's included then you can't save it.
Maybe there is a solution for it, but I think it's a minor thing.
If I find any other bugs I'll let you know.
A+, will feedback on Joomla website.
Cheers,
S.
Hi Jordan,
I was wondering if I can play around with the categories. I have found a post where following code supposed to work, but doesn't work for me:
Got following error:Code:yourname.com/index.php?option=com_ionfiles&func=showcategory&categoryid=xxx
Thanks,Code:Notice: Undefined property: ionFilesModelDisplay::$__ModelClass in C:\xamp\xampplite\htdocs\xxxxcomponents\com_ionfiles\models\classes\ionFilesModelDisplay.php on line 140 Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in C:\xamp\xampplite\htdocs\xxxx\components\com_ionfiles\models\classes\ionFilesModelDisplay.php on line 140 No Files to Display. To add files, use the components menu in your admin panel. Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in C:\xamp\xampplite\htdocs\xxxx\components\com_ionfiles\views\tmpl\default\category.php on line 42
