Hi,
I've just used ion files on this site for their downloads section:
(Ah... I tried to post the link but it wouldn't let me until I've posted 10 times)
I found some weird differences with FF, Safari and IE. Well, FF and Safari worked fine, but IE gave me an error and said the files were corrupted (these were pdf files).
I've fixed it, by doing two things:
1) I tried to get round the link to the files when transferring from local development to live server by missing off the "h t t p://...." this caused problems in IE.
2) I had to remove spaces in the pdf filename for it to work.
Wonder if these are bugs, or have already been fixed, or I did something wrong?
Other than that, thanks VERY MUCH for a great component
Dave.
P.S. I wanted to miss out the spaces in h t t p but it wouldn't let me (I think it detected it as a link). Obviously, they weren't there in the actual link to the file in the backend.
We've seen IE, version 7 in particular, have problems downloading files but always assumed it was a bug in IE rather than ionFiles (since we've found that IE errors in other downloads as well). Removing spaces fixed it though?
Seems to have done... seems ok at my end now and waiting for some others to test it! I definitely had to put the full URL in (is there any way to get round this as it means I have to change the link to every file from the local developent to the live server?) and then removing spaces appeared to do the trick!
Thanks again,
Dave.
P.S. 4.5 coming out soon?![]()
