ionFiles causing core. dump files

Hi there,

I love ionFiles, it's clean and simple to use.

However :-) since using ionFiles I have been getting large 45MB+ files being created in my root directory. It seems that these files are being created because of com_ionfiles. Now I am no expert on dump files, I just looked at the file until I recognized something.

Can someone please help me diagnose the problem.

I don't know how ionFiles would cause a core dump file. I'm guessing PHP is dumping them when hitting ionFiles but I would have to imagine that PHP is dumping them when hitting other PHP files as well. Why do you think it is only ionFiles that causes it though?

I am not 100% sure it is the ionFiles that is causing the dump, but the question "What changed since you started getting the error" caused me to think is was the ionFiles component.

I have absolutely no experience at even trying to understand a dump, but when I page down the file I saw a reference to the ionFiles component. So I assumed.

These are large files. I have about 10 other Joomla sites running on the same server, so I don't think it is a server specific issue.

Any ideas or guidance would be appreciated.

That is very odd. I can't imagine it being ionFiles. Where does the core dump file reside? Do any of your other sites have one?

Did you get my last post with the link to the Core file? In the post I did ask you to remove the link if it was a security risk for my site, and I not sure if you removed the whole post or you just did not get the post.

lulz, as the originator of this post, I would not say ionFile fails, I am just trying to get to the bottom of the problem that is creating the Core file and ionFile was the last Component I installed. So I am hoping that Jordan will help me get to the bottom of this and direct me in the right direction if it is not ionFiles.

ionFiles is working great! I just need to delete the core files on a daily basis :-)
