Computer Science Major

Hi,

I'm a computer science major at the age of 36. I have been working in IT for a long time and got a little burned out and figured it was time to change things up.

On Monday 22nd I will be starting my second semester. One of my classes is programming I which I will be learning Java. I joined this site hoping to get some good information that will help me learn the language. I also am intersted in learning Python on the side...and any other programming languages.

I'm a video game junky (Xbox360/PC) and love computers. Married and live in Massachusetts...just moved up here from FL where I was born and lived all my life...snow and ice is very new to me

I have very little programming background and would view myself as new at it. I had some VB 5 in the past and did some basic on a Commodore 64 many years ago.

Looking forward to checking out more of the site.

I am attending Mass Bay Community College.

I had to go the community college direction because the 4 year school I was looking at wanted me to have some things already under my bult. Plus I had to have lived in this state for at least a year to count as a resident. Mass Bay I only had to be here 6 months...which I was here just 6 months at the time I signed up.

I plan on transfering to Framingham State at some point but I'm in no rush. I have not had any schooling for over 12 years. Its kinda hard to get back in the swing of things after that long.

Yeah...thats the game I play right now.

I belong to an adult gaming community over at 2old2kwit.net. I play just about every night...well until school starts back up...then we will see. I always play in a party of 6 friends on hardcore DM or S&D. The new Rainbow 6 game is coming out soon so I'm sure I will move on to that when it does come out....but COD4 will still get its share of time spent.
