Hey, welcome. Really its up to you. Mine was Visual Basic 6 but thats no longer produced. Chances are though you will run into it alot on the web. Quick history: when M$ introduced .NET Framework, vb commands were changed so alot of vb6 programmers stayed with vb6. Anyways,

Try having a look around at some of the code already on the forum. See if anything makes sense. thats to say, does this code make sense or whatever. Also, it is advisable to take into account the cost but then again, most languages either are, or have free versions. Even M$ released free versions of their Visual Studio 2005 languages.

Personally id recommend maybe VB (Visual Basic) but other people here will probably say otherwise (probably to C++ or C#, or maybe Java). Anyways, regardless of your decision, welcome to the forum and give us a shout if u need any help.

EDIT - Also, html is a web language and isn't implemented in programming applications as such.

I'd recommend starting with wither C or Java. I don't know C, but Java is a very easy language and you can easily learn design patterns with out having to be bothered with complex syntax. I hear C is similar.

Java is a very popular language to start with and is easy to learn. Once you understand one language it is easier to grasp other languages. Welcome to the forum!
