Gond is my nickname (old wow character name). I have always had a passion for computers but have spent the last 10 years getting out of bad debt from college and now have time to play with and study what i want to study. I currently work in the cell phone industry (Verzion Wireless) but have a food service/hospitality background, and now i want to get into the coding world. Currently i am looking for recommendations on what to start with. I have a VB book (Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit) and play with it a little and i am going to be working my way through that book unless somthing better is suggested to get started.
Thats me and i can't wait to dig in to this forum. Thanks for having me!!

Hi Gondoma welcome to codecall!
I really recommend C# or C++ if your going to start a new programming language, this in my view is the utimate language, I'm learning myself at the moment.
Have you any background in programming or will this be your first time ?
I am a programming virgin. I took a semester class on programming junior year of high school (over ten years ago) but thats my only programming experience before the vb book i recently purchased. Honestly my interests are in internet security and gaming. Writing programs in those areas in the future would interest me. I will definitly take your advise and check out C# and C++ thank you for the input
