We were just discussing the price of Dreamweaver. It's literally eye-watering. Frontpage is cheaper by a lot, and VWD... is free.

(mac does suck but you can't say that all products for one platform is better, they need evaluated idividualy)
More expensive does not always mean better, Going to devry cost me over $60,000 if i would go to a local collage i could get the same education and save thousands of dollars. All you are paying for is the name brand, yes somtimes that name brand is better but not always. The reason dreamweaver is so expensive is that macromedia (now adobe) is so well known you are only paying for the name brand.

Dream waver is expensive because of the brand name and that is a really powerful software.

Front page isn't continued anymore, so it is a lot cheaper. What's the difference between VWD and Expression web? I tried expression web but i don't like it that much.

VWD is free, but slightly less comprehensive (unsurprisingly). They're both Microsoft products, so...

However VWD is really decent, apparently from what you said it does more than I thought, if its free and can work directly on servers thats a good thing.

Yeah - but don't try any big files. It doesn't handle uploading/downloading files terribly well - web pages are fine, but don't use it to upload large files. Use SmartFTP or something.

Also, you can set it up so you just have a local copy, but you can click Copy Web Site and it transfers it straight to web, you know, synchronises it. That might be useful.

So you could VWD to just edit your ASP and HTML files on the server and use filezillia to upload pictures and other big files.

I think dream weaver has the same thing where it can edit files on the server but when I make a web site for online use, I'm either going to use VWD or notepad++ probably VWD because it does all the things notepad++ does.

You've done a great job selling VWD to me.
