High schools teach with notepad, that's what I learned HTML with but it's not much at all.
SLTE, what do you use? I really like notepad++  @xaNax - Notepad is simple, but it's way too simple, to be useful and it's very hard to read anything in it. A text editor should by default at least have syntax coloring.

You'll find it useful for a lot of things. You'll have to sit down and explore its features for awhile because it has a lot of them.  It is very useful though.

Or, try Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition. It's one of the rare thıngs that Mıcrosoft seems to do rıght...

Great Told you it was great and very useful I bet you don't know about all the features it has. I don't but I know that it can convert HTML to valid XHTML

A good option once the KDE4 port to Windows is stable is Kate. Of course you'd need to install much of KDE4 for that but practically I'm going to be doing that for Amarok in any case.
