Why not? It's an OS, not an application suite.
There's nothing to say that Dell couldn't install a web browser. |

yeah I guess that's true, they don't install office because they want people to buy office but they could see IE also but I seem to think that IE is required for windows to operate.

Ok. If you have a PC for the first time. You install it, and have no browser. How are you supposed to browse the web and download a good browser?
Besides that Linux come with FF... |

There's no such thing as 'Linux' in the sense you are using it there. Individual distributions bundle a web browser. Most will have a second web browser (although it might be Links). Nearly all will make it easy to install a multitude of web browsers which work exactly as well as it's default. All will make it possible to remove the default browser. I know a whole lot of distributions don't bundle Firefox though. Debian uses Epiphany for it's Gnome desktop and Konqueror for it's KDE desktop. Of course Debian can install as much or as little as you want. Fedora is similar and the installer will allow you to install whatever web browser you want. Gentoo doesn't even give you a desktop as default, forget a web browser. In all cases though. The Linux distributions don't use their default browser in an attempt to cripple the internet as MS did with IE for years. |
