TcM gave a good reason for why people use MSWord for web design. It's not the best thing to do but lots of people don't know how to do anything else.

Same here. Plus using templates in DW never seem to work well once the site goes more than one level deep...

I used to use Notepad, but more recently I've been using ConText which is another Notepad variant with content highlighting etc.

I agree with Jordan also, my sites look way better in notepad then they do in dream weaver. I find it harder to make designs in a WYSIWYG software.

Oh really?

It depends on the editor. For the past few days I've been working on a site of mine in a WYSIWYG editor called KompoZer, and it works fine. KompoZer is an upgraded version of another WYSIWYG editor called NVU. I think that both are better than dream weaver.

I tried NVU and found it needed that little bit extra, but I don't know what... if that makes sense.

I'm going to try VWD this weekend as Xav has sold it to me reading back over this thread

After trying dream weaver, in class I'm going to try KompoZer again, I might like it better now that I know more about WYSIWYG.
