Did you ever see the HTMl code generated by MS word? When a page is saved as an HTML?

It makes a 1kb page as 50kb with all the useless coding!

Yes i made a mistake of trying to cheat on a school project with MS word.

Well, it's not too surprising - it's not a web development program, and it doesn't seem to understand the basics of web design.

It's just software.

But yeah.. even programs designed for web dev are not so good... so what do you expect from word?

VWD usually produces W3C-compliant pages.

I have a hard time believing that, it's a microsoft software, so its pages probably work really well in IE and not in anything else.

Those sites out there, were people are using MS word to make it, are doing it way wrong. It's far easier to use dream weaver to do it and your pages will load faster.

MSWord is fine for office, but in terms of web pages it doesn't even come close. I can't understand why anyone would use it for web design, when VWD is available for free.

Some people don't know how to use VWD or dream weaver but are more familiar with office which is probably why they use it.

I fully agree with that. They feel so familiar with the software that they feel more comfortable using it. Besides that, the average PC user who doesn't know how to format a PC ... and takes it to someone to format it, they already find that MS Office is installed on their system, so they just start using them.

I don't know why someone would use Word for HTML, at least use Frontpage, although I don't even like that.
