Although you can still write PHP files in VWD you just can't test them in VWD.
If you really wanted to, you could probably get it to work if your really smart. Wow thats a really old version of dream weaver. ![]()

I agree completely. It is acualy harder for me to use dreamweaver then to code it myself I have timed it once I cut my development time nearly in half by doing it in note pad. I have tried using notepad 2 a couple of times no more then four it is ok I like to put my code in there if i get an error so i can easily fined the line number but I prefer just good ol' black and white standerd notepad.

What about the source code view in Dreamweaver? It uses syntax highlighting, and you can switch between both easily. Not an improvement over Notepad?

Yeah theirs the source code view in Dream weaver which is probably what I will use when I make my final web site for my course.
I just prefer source code edit by hand without using the WYSIWYG editor view.

What I was trying to say was that you can disable the WYSIWIG to just leave behind a code editor. Which is what you want.

Personally, I haven't written HTML in Notepad in a long time, but then again, I haven't written HTML at all for a long time. Oh wait, I did yesterday. Nevermind, ha ha.

You can disable WYSIWYG in dreamweaver? but if you do that, then how is it different from using notepad?

You don't actually disable it - you just switch to the code view. It just shows the source, and you can switch to the preview mode easily to see the page in action. It offers syntax highlighting and a few other features you'd expect from a £400 piece of software.
