    Cookies

Are cookies still the best way to store information client-side or do most people block them now?

I was talking with a guy the other day and he said "I disabled cookies, you can get a virus" and I thought how this was a common view amongst many non-PC literate people.

You shouldn't rely on a cookie or at least alert the user if they do not have cookies enabled and you need them.
