    Cookies

Are cookies still the best way to store information client-side or do most people block them now?

I was talking with a guy the other day and he said "I disabled cookies, you can get a virus" and I thought how this was a common view amongst many non-PC literate people.

Yeah, many people block Cookies! they hear that they can have a virus so BAM they block all cookies straight away! SO I dont think that its the best way using cookies!
Well it depends on the public that will be visiting your site!

You shouldn't rely on a cookie or at least alert the user if they do not have cookies enabled and you need them.
