Spam is something that you see a lot of. Is there anything preventing bots from joining the forum?

From what I was told, it has been from a different IP every time. But, hey if you get spammers, you know you're on the right track

Other than having the Text Recognition that you have to confirm by typing in what you see, I don't think so.

Well I know about very very very famous forums that has been up for a long time with 1000s of users ( I was one of them before I joined here ) and as far as I saw there were never spammers around!

Well perhaps you could make a harder Captcha? ( Text Recognition ) and perhaps you could request an email and after registration an automatic email will be sent to the user with a verification/activation link then the user will have to click it to be able to sign in the forums for the 1st time! this will make it harder for bots to enter here because before the could sign in they would have to activate their account! what you think?

You do get an activation link. And i think with the text recognition it should be enough.

It wasn't working when you registered Tcm. The old server would take about 4 days to send out an email so I had to disable it.
