Cyclic Redundancy Error

Hello,

While copying a word file from a floppy into my PC, I got an error "Cyclic Redundancy Error". What does that mean?

Please Help.

It probably means you have a bad sector on the disk, and some of the data could not be read.

The sector could be physically damaged.

When dealing with any physical media, it will degrade over time. The plastic gets damaged, magnetic fields screw with the data, etc.

Yeah it's probably bad hardware.
